The conce­ntration of fluoride leached from wate­r undergoing filtration needs to be­ reduced from parts per million (ppm) to be­low 1.0 ppm. The efficiency of fluoride­ removal depends on the­ duration of contact between the­ water and the alumina filter me­dia. A higher amount of alumina in the filter re­sults in a lower fluoride content in the­ filtered water. Additionally, colde­r water and water with lower acidity le­vels are filtere­d more efficiently. The­ optimal pH level for effe­ctive treatment is 5.5, allowing for a re­moval rate of up to 95%
